Naturopathic Mental Health Monday: Time to Stress Less

Wow what a year it has been! Due to condition beyond our control, many of us have spent more of our time in stress and worry than ever before. Fear of our financial future, the health of our family or the grim prospect of never being able to find a partner has been keeping many of us up at night or paralyzed us with stress in the morning. But what actually is stress? In times when stress is almost an inevitability, are there practices to manage stress and cultivate greater ease?

To tackle these questions and help you get a better handle over stress even when it seems impossible, I had a conversation with stress expert, Martha Miller live on Instagram. Martha E. Miller, LCSW, is an enthusiast of creative, mind-body processes for healing, change and growth, and brings this enthusiasm, along with 20 plus years of experience, to her psychotherapy practice. She is especially interested in helping people cultivate practices for managing the stress of everyday life, and finding their way back to their own inner wisdom. Martha introduces a variety of techniques to her clients, including mindfulness based breath work, guided meditations, Emotional Freedom Techniques, as well as encouraging the capacity for greater self understanding, acceptance and compassion.

This was my sixth installment of “Mental Health Mondays.” Each Monday I have a conversation with my favorite mental health therapists so that you can better navigate emotionally and mentally during these very stressful times.
