FAQs

Can I substitute the frozen berries for fresh ones?

Yes, you can definitely use fresh berries. However, frozen berries create a thicker, colder shake which is particularly refreshing on warm mornings. If using fresh berries, consider adding a few ice cubes to achieve a similar consistency.

I'm allergic to nuts. Can I leave out the nuts or use a substitute?

Yes, you can leave out the walnuts and Brazil nuts and almond butter if you have a nut allergy. To maintain the healthy fats and protein content, consider substituting them with sunflower or flax seeds or additional hemp, chia, and/or pumpkin seeds if you tolerate them.

Why do I need to soak the seeds and nuts overnight?

Soaking seeds and nuts helps to improve their digestibility and nutrient absorption. It also softens them, making them easier to blend into a smooth shake.

Can I use a different type of milk?

Absolutely! While unsweetened almond milk is a great option, feel free to experiment with other dairy-free milks like oat milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk. Just ensure the milk is unsweetened to keep the sugar content low.

Is this shake suitable for children?

Yes, this shake is a healthy and nutritious option for children. However, it's always a good idea to consult with your child's pediatrician before introducing new foods, especially if they have any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Can I drink this shake at other times of the day besides the morning?

Absolutely! This shake is a great option for a healthy snack or post-workout recovery drink.
